Michael Lefkowitz
Founder and Managing Partner
Michael Lefkowitz is the Founder and Managing Partner of the Benjamin Ross Group, a business sales, mergers and acquisitions firm, a nationally recognized expert in buying and selling businesses and author of “WHERE’S THE EXIT”, an exit planning book for business owners. Michael has more than 30 years of business sales experience.
Michael was awarded the Influencer of Finance Award by the Philadelphia Inquirer in the Investment Banking Category. Michael was selected by Inquirer readers and an expert panel of judges who felt he shaped, changed, and transformed the financial industry. He is a member of the International Business Brokers Association and past President of the Pennsylvania Business Brokers Association.
Committed to delivering exceptional service to his clients, Michael has assembled an experienced, professional team that can guide business owners through the difficult process of selling a business. His team will assist with the sale and purchase of a wide array of small and mid-market businesses in a myriad of industries. The Benjamin Ross Group has sold more than 96 percent of the businesses they have represented, which is exponentially higher than the national average of 20 percent.
Michael has received the prestigious “Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary” (M&AMI) designation from M & A Source, a division of the International Business Brokers Association. Only 68 people in the world hold this elite status. In addition, Michael is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) – a highly regarded designation in the business brokers’ field which involves extensive education and testing, and trains brokers in the International Business Brokers Association code of ethics.
Michael regularly presents Exit Planning seminars to various organizations to reflect Benjamin Ross Group’s commitment to educating and informing business owners. The seminars advise business owners on what goals need to be set to build business value, what actions need to be taken to transfer a business, and what decisions need to be made to successfully move through the Exit Planning process.
Before founding the Benjamin Ross Group, he was responsible for acquisitions of two publicly traded companies and was involved in more than 1,000 acquisitions throughout the United States. In addition to his work in the public sector, Michael has successfully sold two of his family’s privately held businesses – and because of this – he really understands what it is to be the owner of a business for sale. Michael delivers empathy, ethics and energy to every business opportunity his firm represents.
With a strong belief in giving back, Michael not only shares his time, but has established the Benjamin Ross Group Scholarship to assist in the cost of college tuition for deserving students. He has sponsored the Rebel Seed Fall Festival, which benefitted the Hero-Hunts Foundation. The mission of the Hero-Hunts Foundation is to recognize those who have served and sacrificed for our country by providing them the opportunity to reconnect to the outdoors in a way they might otherwise not be able to. Michael is also involved with the Daniel K. Wepryk Foundation, which was recently established to honor Daniel’s life and memory. This foundation focuses on raising awareness of opioid addiction, educating our youth about the perils of drug use and enacting prevention programs in the community. Michael sponsored the Garden of Reflection, which was a 9/11 memorial dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack. Michael is involved in many charities, and these are just a small sample of those he is involved with. He is also a member of the Union League in Philadelphia.
Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and his two sons, Benjamin and Ross – after whom he named his company.
